Liverpool are set to hand defender Andy Robertson a big pay rise after his impressive debut season at Anfield.
The Scot cost just £10million when he joined the Reds from Hull City last summer – and that fee looks a snip after he proved himself one of the best full-backs in the Premier League.
Robertson, 24, has three years still to run on the deal he signed 13 months ago.
But Jurgen Klopp and Anfield’s technical staff have moved to extend his stay on Merseyside already with plans to almost doubles his wages.
Robertson’s proposed new deal will see him pocket more £60,000 a week.
The former Queen’s Park and Dundee United player was not expected to challenge for a first-team spot immediately after his arrival at Liverpool.
But he quickly established himself as a first choice under Klopp and is expected to be a key player for the club this season.
Talks are planned with club chiefs confident terms will be tied up quickly.
