Liverpool set to meet agent of £70m target midfielder to discuss potential summer transfer

Liverpool are set to meet with Bruno Fernandes’ agent in London to talk about lodging a second proposal for the Sporting Lisbon attacker, reports say.

Fernandes is hot property this summer and is wanted by Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham.

United are also due to sit down with Miguel Pinho when he touches down in London.

Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha claim Liverpool have already submitted a £40million offer for Fernandes and are not planning to raise that bid.

Instead, Liverpool intend to speak to Pinho about adjusting their offer to Sporting to include their coveted youngster, Rafael Camacho.

Camacho wants to leave Anfield this summer in search of first-team football and is keen on returning to his home country Portugal to join Sporting.

The agreement that was to send Camacho to Sporting was believed to be a separate issue for Liverpool, but now the Reds want to include the winger in a potential deal for Fernandes.

Sporting want £70m for Fernandes, but Liverpool have no intention of matching that asking price. But there is an expectation that Liverpool will approach Sporting a second time and offer Camacho as a makeweight.

The race for Fernandes is set to drag on with Tottenham and United closely monitoring the goalscorer.
