Real Madrid have decided to sell Isco at the end of the season, according to reports in Spain.
The midfielder has struggled to impress for Madrid this term as the Spanish champions sit 19 points behind Barcelona in the La Liga table. The 25-year-old agreed a five-year contract extension with Madrid in September which keeps him at the club until 2022.
But according to Spanish television show ‘El Chiringuito’, Madrid are set to cash in on the midfielder this summer.
The report claims that should Zinedine Zidane remain at the club beyond the end of the season, the Frenchman’s priority will be to offload Isco.
It is also understood that Zidane feels ‘let down’ by the player’s performances this season and has instructed Madrid’s hierarchy to listen to offers.
Liverpool have already been linked with Isco and could consider the Spain international as a potential successor to Philippe Coutinho, who was sold to Barcelona for £142 million last month. Liverpool already have Naby Keita arriving from RB Leipzig this summer but Jurgen Klopp’s side are also keen on Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, although Isco could be an alternative if he is made available by Madrid.
