LIVERPOOL are ready to reignite their interest in Napoli midfielder Piotr Zielinski in the summer, according to reports.
The Reds are looking for another central midfielder this transfer window.
Despite Naby Keita joining Liverpool this summer from RB Leipzig for £56m, the Anfield club are preparing for a big departure. Emre Can has yet to sign a new deal, meaning he will be free to leave at the end of the season as his contract will expire.
A number of clubs are circling the German international including Manchester City and Real Madrid. But Juventus are in with the strongest shout, having courted the former Leverkusen ace since last January.
And the Reds are looking at Serie A for a replacement, and are eyeing former target Zielinkski, according to CalcioMercato.
Liverpool came close to signing the Polish talent in 2016.
But Anfield chiefs were not convinced and ended up losing out to Napoli, who paid Udinese £13m.
That looks like an absolute steal now and a mistake, as Liverpool rejoin the race for the 23-year-old.
A bid of around £33m is expected now as a result of the playmaker flourishing under Maurizio Sarri, who compared him to City star Kevin de Bruyne.
He said: “He is an absolute talent.
“He also has great physical skills and if he grows in the level of personality, he can play in any area of the pitch, the new De Bruyne.”
