Liverpool have been linked with a move for the RB Leipzig ace recently.
According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, Timo Werner’s attraction of working with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp cannot be underestimated, as his future with RB Leipzig continues to grow more uncertain with every week that passes.
According to German publication Bild, Leipzig could cash in on the 23-year-old this summer, and the Bundesliga side value the forward at around €60 million (£52 million).
Bild also claimed that Liverpool have been tracking the Germany international over the past few months, with a view to making a summer bid for his services.
Werner has been in fine form for Leipzig this season, racking up 17 goals and six assists in 33 appearances in all competitions thus far.
He can play anywhere along the front-line, and would provide fantastic competition for Liverpool’s current front three.
And in today’s day and age, £52 million for someone with Werner’s quality would surely have to be considered as decent value for money for the Reds.
Whether Klopp feels that another world-class attacker is needed at Anfield, however, remains to be seen.
