Liverpool ready to meet £35m release clause to re-sign their former star

JURGEN KLOPP will look to lure AC Milan midfielder Suso back to Liverpool this summer, according to reports.

The 24-year-old was at Anfield for three years from 2012 but found opportunities limited and made just 15 appearances.

But Suso has impressed this season for AC Milan, netting six goals while laying on five assists. And Italian outlet Calciomercato report that Klopp will look to bring Suso back to Merseyside having failed to do so in January.

The Italian has a release clause of 40million euros (£35m).

That shouldn’t be too much of an issue for Liverpool, who still have funds from the sale of Philippe Coutinho in the bank. Coutinho was sold to Barcelona for £142million in January with Liverpool spending £75million on defender Virgil van Dijk.

Having struggled at Liverpool, Suso spent his final season attached to the club on loan at Spanish side Almeria.

That led to a move to Italy where he has made a name for himself by regularly impressing in the Milan derbies.

Suso could be brought in as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian has had a sterling debut season for the Reds and reports suggest Real Madrid are interested in the 25-year-old.

Salah has 39 goals in all competitions and has helped Liverpool progress to the Champions League semi-finals.

Klopp’s side will find out who they face in the last four today with the draw taking place in Nyon, Switzerland at midday.
