Barnsley are interested in securing the services of Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent on-loan next season, after the winger’s impressive spell at Oakwell last term.
According to a report in The Star, Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom is very keen to bring the 20-year-old back on a temporary basis after Kent racked up 42 appearances and scored three goals.
Another loan move to Oakwell could be tempting for Kent, as it is likely he will be guaranteed first team football. With Liverpool interested in signing Roma winger Mohamed Salah, it would be difficult for Kent to force his way in to the first-team if he stays at Anfield.
Heckingbottom will be keen to get business completed early this season, especially with the shortage of wingers at the club. With Kent, Barnsley know that they are getting a proven player who is able to perform well at championship level.
It is also thought that the Liverpool starlet believes he could become a regular feature at Anfield if he can prove himself again for the Tykes.
The Yorkshire club will have to fight off strong competition this summer if they are to loan Kent again, with the likes of Celtic and Leeds United also rumoured to be interested in the player.
