CHELSEA, Manchester United and Liverpool are heading for a tug-of-war over Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Presnel Kimpembe.
The three Premier League bigwigs have noted just how good a start the 21-year-old has made to the season and are ready to pounce.
Such has been Kimpembe’s form that he is actually one of the five players that new head coach Unai Emery has used the most since his arrival in the summer.
His chance came when captain Thiago Silva was injured and Marquinhos was away on Olympic duty with Brazil.
Then David Luiz left for Chelsea to leave PSG a little bare at the back.
Meanwhile, the French defender also earned an international call-up for the games against Bulgaria and Netherlands.
PSG hope that his run of first team games will tempt Kimpenbe into a fresh deal.
Parisian’s right-back Thomas Meunier compared the youngster to his international teammate Vincent Kompany: “He [Kempembe] is exceptional. I love his style of play. I can easily compare it with Kompany. Presnel has this elegance. He is modern and builds from the back”
And, conscious of the fact that Chelsea, United and Liverpool are on the €15m-rated defender’s trail, but, they are doing their best to close out negotiations quickly.
