Liverpool are preparing a move to sign Napoli star Faouzi Ghoulam in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Ghoulam has made 146 appearances for Napoli since joining the club from Saint-Etienne back in 2014 but the 26-year-old left-back is being heavily linked with a Premier League switch in the new year.
It’s understood the Algerian’s negotiations over a new contract have stalled which has put Chelsea, Manchester City, Juventus and Atletico Madrid on red alert.
The Daily Express suggest Liverpool are also poised to launch a bid for Ghoulam, with the Merseyside outfit on the hunt for defensive reinforcements.
Jurgen Klopp missed out on Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk in the summer and the Reds have already conceded 12 goals in the English top flight.
Ghoulam is out of contract at Napoli next summer so the Serie A outfit may be tempted to cash-in on the full-back before he is able to leave the club for free.
