Liverpool could add to their attack this January as they are reportedly leading the chase to seal the transfer of Red Bull Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg.
The Sweden international has caught the eye in the Bundesliga this season, scoring five goals in 14 appearances from out wide to aid the club’s unlikely Bundesliga challenge.
Forsberg has been linked with Premier League sides in the past, and could prove a useful buy for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp this January.
The Reds recently lost Philippe Coutinho to injury and are also preparing for Sadio Mane’s departure as he links up with Senegal for the Africa Cup of Nations, so could do with more depth in their attack.
According to the Daily Mirror, they are in pole position to snap up Forsberg, who looks like he could go some way to filling that void up front for Liverpool.
It remains to be seen how much the Merseysiders are willing to pay for the 25-year-old, though he supposedly has a £20million release clause in his Leipzig contract.
