Liverpool want to add to their defence this summer, as illustrated by their pursuit of Virgil van Dijk which didn’t go as planned.
Centre-back remains an issue for the Reds and Jurgen Klopp’s side are working to address the matter and have opened talks with Lazio regarding two of their star defenders.
While Liverpool’s interest in Dutchman Stefan de Vrij is well-documented, Italian source Il Messaggero have claimed that the Reds are also in talks with the Serie A side over a deal for their talented Brazilian centre-back Wallace.
Wallace had spent the last three seasons in European football after joining Braga in a £8m deal from Cruzeiro back in 2014 and he joined Monaco on a two-season loan the same summer.
The 22-year-old joined Lazio in a £6.8m deal last summer and impressed during his debut season in Serie A, attracting interest from Liverpool in the process.
Under contract until 2021, the former Brazil U20 international wouldn’t be cheap.
