Liverpool FC and Tottenham are among the Premier League clubs keeping track of young Stevenage defender Ben Wilmot, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is claiming that the two Premier League outfits are both keeping tabs on the highly-rated 18-year-old defender with a view to possible moves in the new year.
The same report claims that Wilmot has been attracting interest from a host of top clubs in recent months and that as many as 30 scouts were in attendance to watch Stevenage’s Checkatrade Trophy tie with Brighton’s Under 21s as he played the full 90 minutes.
Wilmot has not yet made an appearance in League Two for Stevenage so far this season but has reportedly “done enough” to get the attention of a host of top clubs with his performances in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Liverpool FC are believed to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements next year, with Jurgen Klopp’s rearguard having come under constant scrutiny this season.
