Liverpool will face stiff competition for young striker Alexander Isak with Juventus and now PSG joining the race to sign the player.
The prolific striker has already netted 11 goals in 26 games for Swedish side AIK Solna so far this season and he has been labelled the new Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Sweden.
Calciomercato claim PSG are ready to offer €10million for the Swedish striker who is not going to leave his club for less than €15-16million.
When asked last month about Isak’s future, AIK sporting director Bjorn Wesstrom told Fotbolldirekt:
“Now that he has made the breakthrough, Alexander will leave for a big fee. Now or in the next transfer window he will be sold”.
Juventus are believed to have have been scouting the player for very long time, along with several other European clubs including Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Leicester all interested. And AIK confirmed via Twitter that 122 scouts from around Europe watched the Swedish side take on Hacken last month, a match in which Isak played 85 minutes.
The Old Lady has made contact with the player’s entourage through her director of sport Fabio Paratici, while Liverpool have also made contact to sign the 17-year-old sensation who, could well stay at his current club until the end of the season, taking a final decision on his future next summer.
Swedish newspaper Matchdax previously reported that Liverpool also scouted Isak against IFK Gothenburg on October 24, but AIK sporting director Bjorn Wesstrom refused to speak about whether the Reds were talking to the club
“I say what I have said the entire time. I won’t comment about which clubs are interested or not in Alexander Isak.
“AIK Soccer communicate as usual, when there is something confirmed. I can’t confirm or deny [that talks with Liverpool took place]. As I said, we don’t comment when there is nothing to comment on,” said Wesstrom.
