Liverpool are set to move ahead of Chelsea in the race for Ivan Perisic by submitting an offer of £30 million for the Inter Milan winger.
After finishing as Croatia’s top scorer in Euro 2016 qualifying, the 28-year-old impressed for his country at the finals tournament last summer and was linked with a move back then.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea were reportedly interested in the winger and the Blues have continued to track him over the course of this season.
However, according to Tutto Mercato, they are about to be leapfrogged in their pursuit of Perisic by Liverpool.
The Reds are reportedly putting together an offer of £30m for the Croatian, which they hope will be enough to get a deal over the line ahead of the summer transfer window.
Back in 2016 Croatian legend Davor Suker’s raved: “He [Perisic] is incredible; he has strength, talent and a knack of scoring. He’s decisive like [Arjen] Robben”.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Perisic having worked with him during his time in charge of Borussia Dortmund.
