Liverpool keeping close tabs on UCL-winning No.23 ahead of official move

Liverpool are reportedly long time admirers of the Real Madrid ace.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Fichajes.net, Real Madrid ace Mateo Kovacic will be allowed to join Liverpool this summer, due to the fact that he is currently fifth choice in the central midfield pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Croatian joined Los Blancos from Inter Milan in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £25.4 million, and he has since gone on to make 105 appearances for the Spanish giants.

Diario Gol reported last summer that the Reds were keen on signing the 23-year-old Real Madrid man, but a move failed to Anfield materialise due to the fact that the Los Blancos hierarchy still had high hopes for the midfielder.

Fichajes.net now claim that Madrid are willing to sanction Kovacic’s exit from the cub this summer, with Liverpool once again leading the race to sign him.

The Croatia international is incredibly talented, and it could be argued that he would get into most teams in world football.

The 23-year-old possesses exceptional technical ability, and he would undoubtedly bring a touch of class to the Reds’ midfield.

If Klopp does in fact manage to bring Kovacic to Anfield this summer, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Liverpool.
