Liverpool are reportedly interested in RB Leipzig defender Dayout Upamecano – but are set to miss out on the youngster.
Upamecano, just 18, joined RBL in January and is one of Europe’s most highly-rated young defenders.
According to Bild, the Reds have been tracking his progress ever since he switched to Leipzig from sister club Red Bull Salzburg in January.
But, a new five-year deal is on the table and set to be signed, raising his buy-out clause to €100million.
Liverpool have already signed another Leipzig player Naby Keita for £48million and the midfield star will join Jurgen Klopp’s side next season.
However, the Reds’ business around Bundesliga’s 2016/17 season runner-ups is not done yet. The Merseyside giants are also considering surprise move for Leipzig forward Timo Werner, but the Premier League giants have to beat tough competition from Champions League holders Real Madrid.
It is believed that Zinedine Zidane’s side are also keeping close tabs on 21-year-old rising star.
