Iker Casillas to Liverpool?
Spanish newspaper AS have dropped a big transfer story on Tuesday morning, regarding Liverpool and their possible search for a new goalkeeper.
Iker Casillas, the legendary Spanish goalkeeper, has an offer from Liverpool and is keen to join the Merseyside giants.
The 36-year-old custodian has been at Porto for the past two seasons but will leave the Portuguese side this summer and is available on a free transfer.
Offers from Turkey, China & Qatar
Besides the Liverpool offer, Casillas is also mulling over offers from Turkey, China and Qatar.
AS also cite a rumour that Casillas has already agreed a pre-contract with Liverpool.
The fact Liverpool are now in the Champions League is considered a huge positive by Iker Casillas.
175 appearances in the Champions League
The former Real Madrid goalkeeper has played an incredible 175 times in the Champions League for Los Blancos and Porto.
Casillas produced some wonder saves in the past season for Porto and kept clean sheets in 23 of his 43 matches.
According to AS, Casillas is willing to compete with Simon Mignolet for the first choice starting role as goalkeeper for Liverpool.
Casillas returned yesterday to Madrid with his family to start his vacation. Porto will return for pre-season on July 3, Casillas is not expected to return to Portugal.
Are Liverpool really keen on Casillas?
This transfer rumour will undoubtedly promote plenty of conjecture in the coming hours, as Casillas is such a big name thanks to success with Spain and Real Madrid.
