Liverpool have approached Al Ahl over a transfer move for West Brom loan star Ahmed Hegazi, according to reports.
Hegazi, 26, completed a season-long loan deal with the Baggies ahead of the 2017/18 campaign and has impressed for the Premier League outfit, making seven appearances since the start of the season.
The Egyptian’s fine performances for West Brom appear to have turned heads in England and it’s understood Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are expressing a strong interest.
ESPN FC suggest the Merseyside giants have contacted his parent club, Al Ahl, over a potential move for the highly-rated centre-back next summer. Klopp is on the hunt for defensive reinforcements at Anfield, with Dejan Lovren, Ragnar Klavan and Joel Matip failing to impress this term.
Liverpool have already conceded 18 goals in the English top flight this season as the side sit sixth in the table behind Tottenham. It’s believed Leicester City are also very keen on Hegazi following a string of accomplished displays at West Brom.
The Foxes have been keeping tabs on Hegazi for some time as the club’s head of recruitment, Eduardo Macia, worked with the Egyptian at Fiorentina.
