Liverpool have to beat Chelsea in race for £90m-rated French winger

Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar this summer.

The 22-year-old has been one of the most highly coveted players in European football over the last 18 months thanks to his exploits in helping Monaco win the Ligue 1 title in 2016-17 and reach the Champions League semi-finals.

Lemar was strongly linked with a move away from the principality club last summer and again in January, but ultimately stayed put as the Monegasques finished second in 2017-18 behind Paris Saint-Germain.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are now possible destinations for Lemar, while Arsenal and Liverpool could once again look to sign the highly-rated winger.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also believed to be in the running for the France international.
