Liverpool fans are keen to see their club finish in the top four ahead of what could be a very exciting summer for them.
The Reds are well in with a chance of returning to the Champions League for next season with them set to play fewer games than any of the other sides around them.
That’s bound to be a boost – especially when you consider their tiny squad – ahead of a very tasty looking run-in.
Indeed, the small nature of the numbers in their team is surely what put their title challenge to the sword this season but with some extra additions in the summer there’s no reason why they can’t go again.
Indeed, according to The Mirror, Liverpool have opened talks about the possibility of signing Mario Gotze from Borussia Dortmund and so, with that in mind, here’s two reasons Jurgen Klopp needs to make that happen…
STILL HAS MUCH TO OFFER
The German international’s career has not taken the path many had projected for him when he moved to Bayern Munich.
That was meant to be the moment he became world class but instead he’s found himself plateauing and back at Dortmund. Even so he’s still well shy of his prime and has plenty to offer if he is in the right environment. Now could be the time to come to Liverpool.
HIS BEST DAYS WERE UNDER KLOPP
The German was at his very best when he was under Jurgen Klopp at Dortmund and that must surely be tempting Liverpool.
If the two can strike up the same kind of working partnership that served everyone connected with the Bundesliga side so well as they won back-to-back titles, surely it’s worth a gamble. Klopp gets the best out of most players he works with and doing so with Gotze could prove devastating.
