Liverpool given massive boost in race for £44m Brazilian winger

MALCOM has NOT agreed a deal with Inter Milan potentially opening the door to his Premier League suitors.

Chelsea and Liverpool are known to be tracking Bordeaux’s 21-year-old winger. But there were reports earlier this month that Serie A giants Inter were close to sealing a deal for the highly-rated Brazilian.

The player’s agent, Fernando Garcia, has now stated that his client remains up for grabs.

Garcia said: “There’s no deal at all with Inter. They are of course a great club, but Malcom is a professional, and, all things considered, the right formula can’t be no buy-back option.

“The buy-back must be mandatory, otherwise Bordeaux will keep on saying no. I’m definitely not able to state where my client’s future is going to be, at this time.”

Malcom scored an impressive 12 goals in 35 Ligue 1 appearances last season, in addition to seven assists.

The former Corinthians ace is believed to be available at around £44m. And it is understood that representatives of both Chelsea and Liverpool have held talks with Garcia recently.

Malcom signed a contract extension until 2021 in September following talk that Arsenal were keen last summer. But he recently hinted that he could leave Bordeaux this transfer window should Europe’s biggest clubs come calling.

“I want to play for an elite club in Europe, win the Champions League and play for the Selecao,” Malcom said. “When I play for a big club, my chances improve. I want to thank Bordeaux for everything.

“I am going to sit down with my agent and family. Together we will make a decision.”
