Liverpool are leading the race for defender Emerson Palmieri as Roma do not want to sell him to Juventus.
The Reds are interested in landing the left-back in January after keeping tabs on him during the summer transfer window.
Juventus are also chasing in the Italy international as they view him as an ideal replacement in case Alex Sandro leaves for Chelsea.
But, according to Calciomercato, Roma are very reluctant to sell Emerson to a direct rival.
The Italian club are prepared to let the 23-year-old go if someone pays around £25m, but they cannot face seeing him turn out for another Serie A side.
That would seemingly rule Juve out of the running for Emerson and put Liverpool in pole position to get their man.
