Liverpool maintained their perfect start to the Premier League season with victory over Crystal Palace on Monday night.
The three points didn’t come as easily as they did against West Ham the week before, but there performance was enough for a 2-0 victory.
James Milner fired the Reds into the lead just before half-time, scoring from the penalty spot after ex-Liverpool man Mamadou Sakho took down Mohamed Salah in the area.
Then, deep into stoppage time, Sadio Mane extended his fantastic form this season when he ran from his own half to secure the points.
When asked about the title race after the match, Klopp noted: “It’s very early. I couldn’t care less really. We are not in a race with other Premier League teams each weekend.
CRYSTAL PALACE 0-2 LIVERPOOL
“It is too strong to say anything after two match days. You can discuss whatever you want – just do it without us.”
So it was clear that – despite the result – Klopp wasn’t completely happy after the game but his post-match interview looks incredibly tame compared to Roy Hodgson’s.
The Crystal Palace manager took charge of Liverpool for a brief spell during 2010-11 and wasn’t happy with the nature of defeat to his old side.
ROY HODGSON SPEAKS OUT AFTER THE MATCH
Hodgson voiced his frustrations at a series of decisions during the game and frankly, Liverpool fans were having absolutely none of it on Twitter.
“We probably did enough to get a result,” Hodgson said to BBC Sport. “I don’t think it was a penalty. I’m angered that a good result was taken from us.”
“I don’t think we gave away a penalty and I don’t think Liverpool deserved to be leading 1-0 at half-time thanks to that penalty.
“I have been in football a long time, and if that is a penalty then the game has changed beyond all recognition.
“He is trying to defend and there is no way he is looking to foul the player, there is no way he is looking to get contact on the player at all.”

LIVERPOOL FANS REACT ON TWITTER
Take a look at how Liverpool supporters reacted on Twitter:
Not sure what Hodgson was moaning about. Should have directed his anger at Sakho. Clear penalty. Clumsy challenge on Salah. Sakho typically rash.

Grasping at straws. Is this the same Hodgson that said they should have got a penalty because VVD supposedly cleared out Meyer from a cross yet turned out there was no contact? Deluded.
