Liverpool fan’s tweet comparing Raheem Sterling & Mohamed Salah’s Premier League stats

A lot has been said about Mohamed Salah’s season.

The Egyptian winger had a ridiculous first campaign at Liverpool, where he scored 44 times in 52 games and helped his side to the Champions League final.

But, he hasn’t been able to replicate that success this season.

Salah has scored 20 times in 39 games which is still a brilliant return.

However, he has been criticised in recent weeks and is currently without a goal in seven games.

Salah isn’t considered one of the frontrunners for the PFA Premier League player of the year award.

One of the main contenders is Raheem Sterling.

The English forward has been brilliant for Manchester City this season and has improved drastically under Pep Guardiola.

However, when you break down the two players stats, there isn’t actually too much between the two.

One Liverpool fan on Twitter has shown exactly that.

@Salah_holic has compared stats such as goals, assists and chances created and here is what he’s found…

Interesting stuff.

So Salah has actually scored more goals than Sterling, as well as creating more chances for his teammates.

He’s also won more penalties for his side and scored more winning goals.

That does make you wonder why Salah isn’t in the running for the PFA Premier League Player of the year Award but Sterling is.

While many have criticised Salah for his performances this season, Sterling has in fact praised him, calling him ‘exceptional’.

“I’m not surprised [by how well he’s done],” Sterling told Sport360 in December when asked about Salah, per Goal. “He’s gone to Liverpool and it’s clicked for him.

“Every player has a moment when they are good, very good and then it clicks. He’s been exceptional. But it’s about how you maintain it – and he’s maintained that perfectly and that’s a credit to him.”
