It had an ‘after the Lord Mayors’s show’ feel at Anfield ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth.
On Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Manchester City for the second time in the space of six days to qualify for the Champions League semi-finals.
Now, they had to forget all about that 5-1 aggregate win and concentrate on domestic proceedings once again.
The atmosphere may not have been quite the same as we witnessed the last time Liverpool played at Anfield but the result was exactly the same.
Just like they did with City in their quarter-final first-leg, Liverpool picked up a 3-0 victory.
Goals from each of the front three – Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino – saw the Reds take a step closer to a top-four finish.
And Klopp even had the luxury of resting a few players towards the end of the match.
FIRMINO AND MANE HAD A CHAT ON THE BENCH
Two of those that came off as the match wore on were Mane and Firmino.
And they could be seen deep in conversation just before the final whistle.
From what we could tell, Firmino was teaching Mane a few dance moves and Liverpool fans think they know exactly what was being said.
Mane has a growing reputation for copying his teammates’ celebrations, so could Firmino be teaching him his next one?
