Jordan Henderson will lead Liverpool out at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev on May 26 after Liverpool booked their place in the Champions League final on Wednesday night.
The Reds were beaten 4-2 at the Stadio Olimpico but went through 7-6 on aggregate thanks to last week’s 5-2 victory at Anfield.
There were jubilant scenes from the Liverpool players, coaching staff and fans immediately after the final whistle. The Merseyside outfit have reached their first Champions League final since 2007 and, understandably, were keen to savour the moment.
Fans were held back inside the Stadio Olimpico after the game as a precaution following last week’s violence outside Anfield.
But this allowed the players and coaching staff more time to celebrate with their ecstatic supporters.
However, there was a rather curious moment that eagle-eyed Liverpool fans on social media spotted involving Henderson and goalkeeper Loris Karius shortly after the final whistle.
Karius was stood alongside his teammates applauding the travelling fans for their support when Henderson marched up behind him.

The Liverpool captain interrupted the German’s celebrations in order to have a go at him about something that happened during the match.

@GaryLineker Did anybody else see Henderson having a pop at Karius for not staying in the middle of the goal for the Nainggolan Penalty at the end! Think he says something like “I told ya, dont move”!! pic.twitter.com/BKZt6Tj9Ua

Liverpool fans assume – and it certainly looked this way from the footage – that Henderson was annoyed with the ‘keeper for failing to catch the ball towards the end of the match.
He knew how costly a mistake would have been at the moment and wasn’t afraid to interrupt the celebrations in order to give Karius a piece of his mind.
