Liverpool’s first pre-season game was rather overshadowed on Saturday afternoon.
That might have been because England were busy making it to a World Cup semi-final by beating Sweden 2-0 in Samara.
Nevertheless, most Premier League teams were back in training and Jurgen Klopp’s side made the trip to Chester for their first friendly.
And they won 7-0, with new signings Fabinho and Naby Keita making their first appearances for the Reds.
Harry Wilson scored the first two goals, James Milner added from the penalty spot, Daniel Sturrdige bagged a brace, while Danny Ings and Ryan Kent also got on the scoresheet.
Not a bad way to start your pre-season.
However, there was one moment in the warmup that had Liverpool fans talking on Twitter.
With very few people not actually watching the game on LFCTV, Loris Karius will have been hoping that this would have slipped under the radar.
Watch Karius. Wait for it 😩. That’s our number 1 for the season fellas! pic.twitter.com/jGsneXJvJI
