Liverpool fans noticed what kept on happening with Mane and Salah in 2-1 Tottenham win

Liverpool survived a late scare to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Wembley Stadium.

Erik Lamela scored a late goal to set up a nervy finish but the Reds held on for three points.

Liverpool went 1-0 up in the 39th minute in what was a moment to savour for Georginio Wijnaldum.

Michel Form failed to clear James Milner’s corner and the ball was headed back towards goal by Wijnaldum.

The Tottenham goalkeeper tried to keep his effort out but goal line technology ruled that the ball had crossed the line.

It was the first away goal that Wijnaldum has scored for Liverpool in the Premier League.

And it gave the Reds the lead in their most important match of the season so far.

MANE AND SALAH
It was 2-0 in the second half, with Roberto Firmino finishing from close range after good work down the left from Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane.

It was just the result that Jurgen Klopp was looking for with a meeting against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League to come.

But one matter that didn’t escape the attention of Liverpool supporters is the relationship between Mane and Mohamed Salah.

On more than one occasion, Mane had an opportunity to pass to Salah but didn’t.

It was most noticeable when Liverpool broke with a three-on-two, with Mane leading the way.

The Senegalese forward had Salah to his right and Naby Keita to his right.

Mane ignored Salah, who scored 44 goals in all competitions last season, and passed to Keita instead. The Guinean’s effort was saved by Vorm.

Is there something in it? Or does Klopp want his players to be greedy?

Whatever the case, Liverpool fans picked up on it.
