Hours before Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace, it was being reported that Loris Karius would be leaving the club.
The German is set to join Besiktas on a two-year loan deal with the Turkish club having the option to sign him after that.
Karius, of course, made two massive mistakes in the Champions League final against Real Madrid at the end of last season and it now seems his Liverpool career is over.
The signing of Alisson for £67 million meant that Karius would find first-team football very hard to come by this season and he will look to reignite his career elsewhere.
Karius was actually in the stands as he watched Alisson and his Liverpool teammates take on Palace at Selhurst Park.
And Karius would surely have realised exactly why Klopp has brought in Alisson to replace him after watching the Brazilian’s performance.
In just his second competitive fixture for Liverpool, he looked confident in between the sticks and made some brilliant saves – especially in the second-half.
And there was one save in particular that pleased Liverpool fans – and Jurgen Klopp.
Luka Milivojevic stepped up and it was heading into the top corner.
That was until Alisson dived to his left and tipped the ball around the post for a corner.
And it pleased his manager.
A replay showed just how the German boss reacted to that save – and he celebrated it like a goal.
