Harry Kane notched his 27th Premier League goal of the season in Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Watford and Wembley on Monday evening but felt he should have ended the night with one or two more.
The 24-year-old has looked out of sorts in recent weeks but showed signs against Watford that he’s gradually rediscovering his form and confidence.
Kane told Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football after the match that he wants to hit the 30-goal mark in the Premier League for the first time in his career – he netted 29 in England’s top division last term and 25 the season before that – and still has his sights set on winning a third successive Premier League Golden Boot.
However, he currently finds himself four goals behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as things stand.
The England international has a game in hand over the Egyptian winger, who will be desperate to add to his tally against Chelsea and Brighton, but may fancy his chances of finishing in top spot after scoring a remarkable eight goals in Spurs’ final three league fixtures last season.
Tottenham have a run-in which, on paper, looks reasonably kind. Kane will surely score at least two, three or possibly even more goals against West Brom (A), Newcastle United (H) and Leicester City (H).
Kane has already been beaten by Salah to this season’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.
LOVREN TAKES CHEEKY DIG AT KANE ON SALAH’S POST
Liverpool’s red-hot forward celebrated securing the prestigious individual accolade with his teammates at Melwood on Monday afternoon and posted a photo on Instagram alongside the caption: “Very fortunate to be adding another award in my first season playing with this great group of players! @dejanlovren06 did you vote for me?”
This then prompted a response which Liverpool fans absolutely loved – purely because he took a dig at Kane.

Referring to Kane as ‘Mr Touch’ obviously went down well with the Liverpool supporters.
Very cheeky, Dejan.
