Liverpool fans have hijacked a Jack Grealish tweet from 2012 begging him to sign for the club – after predicting they’d beat rivals Manchester City.
Grealish put in a fine display for England on Sunday night and managed to stand out despite his side losing 2-0 to Belgium.
The 25-year-old is currently captain of boyhood team Aston Villa but Reds fans think he has a soft spot for them.
That’s because back in 2012, Grealish said Liverpool would run out 2-1 winners over City and signed off with ‘Come on the reds.’
Man city vs Liverpool ??? I'm having liverpool ! Come on the reds !!! Predictions??— Jack Grealish (@JackGrealish) January 3, 2012
While there aren’t any concrete links to Jurgen Klopp’s side, some Twitter users have bombarded the tweet with welcome messages.
