Liverpool close in on Mohamed Salah
For around a week now, Liverpool have been heavily linked with Roma winger Mohamed Salah.
According to widespread reports, Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Salah and have even had a bid rejected for the Egyptian winger.
Roma are not in a great position to hold onto Salah since he only has two years left on his current contract in the Italian capital.
And, Salah is also keen to crack it in the Premier League having been given very few opportunities by Chelsea.
Liverpool fans get excited
Whilst they may only be rumours right now, Liverpool fans are very excited with how their summer is panning out.
It looks at this stage that Liverpool will sign Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk and Salah, which would represent a large upgrade on the current first team at Anfield.
But neither deal is done yet, so Liverpool fans are looking for some confirmation on social media and that might have come on Tuesday evening.
Salah pictured with two Liverpool fans
Salah is currently in Egypt preparing for an Africa Cup of Nations match against Tunisia on Saturday.
Two Egyptian Liverpool fans caught up with Salah and posed with the Roma winger.
Ahmed Essam posted a picture on Instagram with Salah and another friend, they are both holding up Liverpool shirts.
Essam’s tag line to the picture is: “Welcome to @liverpoolfc @mosalah22 #YNWA #LFC #SalahLFC”.
Liverpool fans have jumped on this picture as proof of Salah joining Jurgen Klopp’s side.
A move to Chelsea this time looks unlikely!
It does seem very unlikely that Salah would approve of this picture if a deal wasn’t extremely close.
Salah came close to joining Liverpool in 2014 but chose Chelsea instead, when he left Basel. Since then he has impressed on a regular basis in Italy, first with Fiorentina, then with Roma.
The Egyptian winger posted some seriously impressive statistics last season – bagging 15 goals and 18 assists in 31 Serie A matches.
