BARCELONA will swoop for Lyon star Nabil Fekir if they fail to land Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho was involved in a protracted transfer saga with Barca over the summer.
Ernesto Valverde submitted repeated bids for the midfield maestro. But the Reds dug their heels and refused to sell him.
Don Balon say Barca are still firmly in the hunt for Coutinho – but Fekir is now their plan B.
Fekir has been in stunning form this term. He’s bagged 11 goals in 11 games from his attacking midfield role.
The France international isn’t afraid to court controversy, though. He sparked chaos in Lyon’s match against St Etienne after scoring his side’s fifth goal on Sunday.
Their fierce rivalry reached boiling point after fans streamed onto the pitch. The match, often referred to as ‘Le Derby’ is one of the most high profile clashes in Ligue 1.
And Fekir provoked St Etienne fans after grabbing the final goal of the afternoon in the 5-0 triumph.
After finding the net, the 24-year-old whipped off his shirt and held it aloft directly in front of the St Etienne fans.
