Liverpool fans are gutted after journalist provides big transfer window update

It’s been a pretty decent summer for Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp gave fans a pick-me-up just days after the club had lost the Champions League final by signing Fabinho from Monaco for £43.7 million.

The transfer window wasn’t even open at that point and Liverpool had already sealed deals for Fabinho and Naby Keita – who had already agreed to join 12 months previously.

Along with those two midfielders, Klopp has brought in Xherdan Shaqiri to add some much-needed squad depth and goalkeeper Alisson – for a world-record £67 million fee for a ‘keeper.

Four very decent signings whilst keeping hold of their star players.

But with less than a week remaining of the transfer window, will Klopp dip back into the market one more time?

Liverpool were heavily linked with Nabil Fekir before the World Cup before that deal died following the medical.

Fans are still hoping a deal can be struck with the Frenchman, while they’ve also been linked with the likes of Christian Pulisic and Aaron Ramsey.

So will they make a fifth signing before the start of the new campaign next weekend?

Well, not according to the Daily Mirror’s northern football correspondent David Maddock.

In relation to rumours linking Ramsey to Liverpool, Maddock insisted that there will be no further signings for Liverpool this summer.

“No #LFC interest in Aaron Ramsey – no chance of any further Liverpool signings before window closes. Reds will concentrate on outgoings, Mignolet, Origi, Ojo, Grujic could all go, some on loan. Danny Ings will also depart next week – though Palace not favourites.”

As you’d expect, that news really disappointed many Liverpool fans who were hoping for just one more purchase before they kick off their season against West Ham next Sunday.
