The fallout following a dramatic Merseyside Derby continues.
The 2-2 scoreline between Everton and Liverpool doesn’t even begin to tell the story of the match.
Jordan Pickford produced a shocking tackle on Virgil van Dijk which will likely rule the Dutchman out for the rest of the season. Pickford got away scot-free due to Van Dijk being marginally offside in the process.
Van Dijk will require surgery and there is no timeframe on his return.
"He could have easily been sent off."
"I'm very surprised it's just been forgotten about?"

But it wasn’t the only shocking tackle in the match.
Late on, Richarlison was shown a straight red card for his tackle on Thiago. Fortunately, Thiago got lucky and appears to have escaped without serious injury.

After the match, the Brazilian issued an official apology to the Liverpool midfielder.
“Everyone who knows my background knows that I was never a violent player,” he wrote.
“I did not enter that dispute with the intention of hurting Thiago. When I saw that the crash was going to happen, I picked up my foot and hit him with my knee in the pass, which was inevitable due to the speed of the play.
“I already sent a message to him apologising and I also do it here publicly. I hope he hasn’t been hurt and that everything is fine.”
However, he caused anger by tweeting an image of the tackle with a thinking face emoji. He soon deleted it.
And now, Everton teammate Lucas Digne has upset Liverpool fans with his Instagram post. The image shows Digne trying to put Michael Oliver’s red card back in his pocket as he waited to show it to the Everton player.
