Liverpool fan has designed Nike concept home shirt following reports of record kit deal

Liverpool are ready to capitalise on their rise under Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds, who have reached two European finals and are currently in the Premier League title race under the German’s watch, are eyeing lucrative opportunities away from the pitch.

It was recently reported by ESPN that they are in the hunt for a new kit deal that would surpass Manchester United’s £750 million agreement with Adidas.

Liverpool are supposedly in advanced talks with Nike over a long-term kit deal that would be the biggest ever struck by a Premier League club.

The Anfield club’s current deal with New Balance, which pays around £45 million a year, is set to expire next season.

New Balance have a ‘matching clause’ in their contract which means they can retain their deal by equalling a rival offer – and there could be plenty.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the club are open to offers from Adidas and Puma as well.

Liverpool fans are already imagining how a Nike-designed shirt would look and a home concept kit, designed by Adam Presents, has appeared on Reddit.

The design features include:

  • The lyrics to ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’
  • Pays homage to many former kits (i.e. 1984 European Cup final, 2013-14 home kit)
  • Pays homage to England; the inside of the shirt is white, and the middle strip is red to reflect the country’s flag
  • Color Palette: Liverpool Red, Liverpool Gold

Another classy touch is included with ‘YNWA’ on the sleeve.

Liverpool feel as though they are in a position to overtake Man United’s £75m-per-season contract with Adidas.

And can you blame them?

They are in a very prosperous position, with another deep run in the Champions League this season coinciding with a serious Premier League title challenge.

It’s only a matter of time before Klopp lands his first trophy as Liverpool boss and that could kickstart an impressive period for the Merseyside club.
