Ex-Kop favourite Ryan Babel is set to earn eight times more at Besiktas than he did with Deportivo La Coruna.
The former Dutch international is set to complete a six-month deal with the Turkish club after December 31 as reported by Football Espana.
Babel joined Depor on a three-and-a-half-month deal in the summer, earning £94,000, and recently revealed he’d be leaving the Spanish club when his contract expires on New Year’s Eve.
Across eleven league matches, in which he started five, the 30-year-old managed four goals and one assist helping Depor in their battle against relegation.
His imminent transfer will see him return to Süper Lig, where he’ll pocket £720,000, having previously turned out for Kasimpasa between 2013 and 2015.
It will also be Babel’s fifth club since leaving Ajax for Liverpool in 2007 as well as returning to the former in 2012.
Besiktas, who are the defending Turkish champions, are currently second in the standings a point behind city rivals Istanbul BB after 16 matches played.
