Liverpool fan captured Michael Oliver’s brilliant speed battle with Salah & Mane

Liverpool’s Premier League season has got off to the perfect start.

The Reds have won their first two games, scoring six goals and collecting two clean sheets.

West Ham were the first team to feel the Anfield wrath of Jurgen Klopp’s side, losing 4-0 and Crystal Palace just couldn’t find a way through at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

Roy Hodgson’s side looked good for large parts of the game, but were undone by a James Milner penalty and Sadio Mane’s late solo effort.

The Senegalese winger is now joint top scorer in the league with Everton’s Richarlison and Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero.

And he was easily Liverpool’s best attacker on the night, always looking to create something and putting Palace’s defence under the cosh.

Roberto Firmino was anonymous and Mohamed Salah had one of his off nights, although the Egyptian still managed two assists and got Aaron Wan-Bissaka sent off – not bad.

Salah’s assist for Mane’a late goal showed why he really is the complete footballer. It was a perfectly weighted pass after a lightning-quick break up the pitch.

Liverpool’s two African forwards are two of the quickest around, with Palace’s pacy defenders struggling to keep up.

But one fan has posted a video showing something quite remarkable; referee Michael Oliver, 33, actually managed to keep pace with them.

That is some effort from Oliver.

Even Liverpool legend John Arne Riise picked up on his athleticism and posted a tweet.

Oliver was at the centre of all the big moments at Selhurst Park.

The referee was quick to hand the visitors a penalty after Mamadou Sakho appeared to trip Salah in the box, although the Egyptian seemed to go down theatrically.

Oliver then sent Wan-Bissaka off for a last-man challenge on Salah, with Liverpool’s talisman again appearing to go down rather easily.
