Monaco’s £30m signing Keita Balde Diao revealed he only had one concrete offer over the summer, despite reported interest from Liverpool and Tottenham.
The Senegal international was desperate to leave Lazio during the off season and had refused to train with the Italian side to try and force through a move.
And although Liverpool and Tottenham were keeping close tabs on his situation, the player confirmed that Monaco were the only club to submit a formal offer.
“There was a lot of talk about offers,” Keita said in his presentation press conference.
“The only real offer came from Monaco.”
As noted by WhoScored.com, Keita enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2016-17:

In terms of goalscoring, the forward made major progress, finding an accuracy and composure that had not been prevalent in his game previously. But there’s much more to his makeup than finishing.
Keita was a huge outlet for Lazio last season. Whether played through the middle or on either flank, his pace and power unsettled defenders. It’s the type of threat Monaco would benefit from; while Leonardo Jardim has a lot of quality to call upon, Les Monégasques lack some searing speed in the final third.
