Newcastle United are hoping to keep Kenedy, but will have to see off competition from a number of sides, reportedly including Liverpool.
According to a report from the Chronicle, Liverpool could try and scupper Newcastle’s hopes of signing Kenedy during the summer as the Reds are also interested in signing the Brazilian.
After an underwhelming start to life with Chelsea, the 22-year-old has thrived since moving to St James’ Park on loan in January, proving to be a real catalyst for the form that has taken the Magpies well away from the Premier League relegation zone and ensured that they will remain in the top flight next year.
The Chronicle suggests that Rafa Benitez is keen to explore bringing Kenedy back in some capacity for next season, whether that be permanently or on loan. However, he will face plenty of competition.
The Chronicle adds that Liverpool are amongst those also keen on signing the winger, who cost Chelsea £6.3 million in 2015 – fee reported by the Northern Echo.
Given the quality that the Reds have shown going forward this term, it is arguably a major indicator regarding just how impressive Kenedy has been since joining Newcastle that Jurgen Klopp appears to believe that he could improve his squad this summer.
