Liverpool demand £20m for 25-year-old out-of-favour star

Southampton reportedly want Liverpool’s Danny Ings.

Danny Ings may have failed to make a huge impact at Liverpool, but the former Burnley forward is reportedly on the radar of Southampton, Newcastle United and Crystal Palace.

The Chronicle has credited Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle with interest in the 25-year-old England international, who earns £75,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com.

According to The Sun, Newcastle’s Premier League rivals Palace and Southampton want to sign Ings this summer as well.

The British tabloid has also claimed that the Saints are willing to pay £10m in transfer fees with extras on appearances.

However, Liverpool reportedly want £20m for Ings, who has been on the books of the Merseyside outfit since the summer of 2015 when he moved to Anfield after leaving Burnley at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.

If Southampton make a bid of £10m for Ings, then the Saints may not be successful, as Liverpool reportedly want £20m.

The Reds are in no rush or need to sell the forward, while Southampton could do with a player of his quality in order to be successful next season.

However, asking £20m for a 25-year-old forward who has made only a handful of appearances for the first team in three years due to injury is too much.
