Liverpool deal on the cards: Premier League outfit ready to do business

CRYSTAL PALACE have reportedly joined the race to sign Liverpool outcast Mamadou Sakho.

Sakho, 26, is widely expected to leave Liverpool in this month’s transfer window.

He is yet to play a single minute for the Reds this season after being completely frozen out by Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

The Daily Mail credit Sevilla and Galatasaray with interest in the Frenchman, who is tied to the Reds until the summer of 2020.

Meanwhile a host of Premier League clubs are also apparently prepared to offer him an escape route, the latest of which is reportedly Palace.

New boss Sam Allardyce is said to be hoping to use the January window to bolster his defensive options with the Eagles currently only sitting outside of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Sakho joined Liverpool from Paris St-Germain for around £16m in 2013.

The centre-back made 34 appearances in all competitions last season but missed the Europa League final and Euro 2016 through suspension after a failed drugs test in a case which was eventually overturned by UEFA.

He was also sent home from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States for breaching club rules and his only football this season has come at Under-23 level.
