LIVERPOOL are reportedly set to run the rule over Oxford United winger Marvin Johnson today.
The Birmingham-born versatile winger has enjoyed a stellar season with the League One outfit.
And it seems his nine goals and 14 assists this term have impressed.
According to theDaily Mail, Liverpool are one of three clubs keen on Johnson, who only transitioned into professional football with Motherwell in 2015.
The newspaper say Premier League rivals Leicester and Everton will watch him too.
Johnson is set to line up for Oxford in their final game of the campaign against Shrewsbury.
And he’ll be hoping to impress scouts in a bid to earn a shock move to the top flight.
Liverpool, who have used James Milner at left-back all season due to doubts about the defensive ability of Alberto Moreno, are unlikely to make it easy.
A natural winger, the late-bloomer has starred in an unfamiliar left-back role this season, meaning the Merseysiders may have identified him as a younger alternative to former England international.
Few supporters will be too excited by the club attempting to solve their problem position with a 26-year-old from League One but, clearly, Johnson has the ability to play at a higher level.
