Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has all but ruled Sadio Mane out of Senegal’s World Cup qualifiers in November.
The 25-year-old was called up by his country’s qualifiers on the 10th and 14th of November, despite sustaining a grade II hamstring injury that is likely to keep him out for six weeks.
The winger had started the season in emphatic fashion and Liverpool missed his penetration during a bore draw with Manchester United at Anfield last weekend. And, while Klopp understands why Mane was called up, he has appeared to rule him out of any early return.
‘Sadio is still in rehab. He is indoors. He is not in any exercises outside,’ said Klopp. ‘I can imagine they (Senegal) feel the pressure a little bit.
‘If he is fit earlier I would be really happy. But nobody knows at this moment. ‘If he’s fit, we cannot hide him. we can do nothing to keep him.’
