JURGEN KLOPP has backed Mario Gotze to return to his best for Borussia Dortmund.
Gotze, 24, played under Klopp during his first spell as a Dortmund player before controversially joining Bayern Munich for £31m in 2013.
They were heavily linked with a reunion at Liverpool in the summer but Gotze instead went on to seal a return to the Westfalenstadion.
The German World Cup winner has failed to hit the ground running back at Dortmund, scoring just one goal in his 10 top-flight appearances.
However Klopp has no doubt that Gotze will soon find some form, telling Bild am Sonntag: “Mario has often gotten injured at unfortunate moments and has not really gotten into a rhythm yet.
“But there is still a world-class footballer inside Mario, just like before.
“You do not just forget how to play football, it’s like cycling.
“Mario’s next challenge will be to find consistency.
“I have no doubts about it that he will bounce back. He has no reason to worry.”
