Liverpool reportedly face competition from Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Philipp Max from FC Augsburg.
The Reds have been linked with a move for the German in recent times as Jurgen Klopp ponders whether or not additions will be necessary ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Max had a strong season with Augsburg in the Bundesliga. He has displayed an ability to operate both on the left wing and in a more defensive role at left-back.
These qualities appear to have piqued Liverpool’s interest, given their shortage of depth behind Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane respectively on the flank.
However, if the Reds are serious about their pursuit of the 26-year-old, they may need to step up their interest, with Soccer Link reporting that Ligue 1 champions PSG are interested.
Thomas Tuchel is understood to be an admirer of Max, who has ‘responded favourably’ to the prospect of linking up with his compatriot in the French capital ahead of next season.
