Theo Hernandez looks set to join Real Madrid after passing a medical and agreeing terms, according to reports.
The Atletico Madrid youngster had been heavily linked with a transfer to Liverpool with reports in Spain claiming the Reds had approached the left-back.
Hernandez is also wanted at his current club with Atletico desperate to hold onto the 19-year-old or at the very least, ensure he does not join their most bitter rivals.
But the Independent claim Hernandez has now passed a medical at Real and is set to sign a long-term deal with the La Liga leaders.
Real will snap the promising defender up for just £20 million due to a release clause in his Atletico contract.
It will be a bargain price for one of the most coveted young stars in Spain who had also been tracked by Barcelona.
Hernandez has shot to prominence in Spain this season after playing a starring role in Alaves’ run to the Copa del Rey final.
Atletico loaned Hernandez to the La Liga side hoping he would flourish with regular football.
The defender has been ever present for Alaves this season, making 36 appearances and scoring four goals.
Real see Hernandez as the natural successor to their current No.1 left-back Marcelo.
Hernandez will join Real at the end of the season while his parent club set to try and overturn a three goal deficit against Real in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Alaves will be sad to see Hernandez leave the club with the full-back scoring the winner against Athletic Bilbao at the weekend.
