Chelsea must find Liverpool’s recent wins “frustrating”, according to Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
With a record-equalling winning streak of 13 games, Chelsea have showcased a spectacular run of form under Antonio Conte this season.
The Blues have surged to the top of the Premier League table, while conceding a total of just four goals during their incredible current run, which was extended by a 4-2 victory over Stoke City this weekend.
Despite a difficult December for fellow title rivals Arsenal and Manchester City, Chelsea are still only six points clear of second-placed Liverpool.
The Reds bounced back from a loss to Bournemouth and draw with West Ham United very well, with a run of four successive victories.
Liverpool’s latest triumph came against Man City on New Year’s Eve, as Jurgen Klopp demonstrated a more conservative style of play to comfortably contain their opponents at Anfield.
Mignolet insists his side are prepared to chase Chelsea’s lead down over the coming months, as he told the Liverpool Echo: “It’s not frustrating for us, I think it must be frustrating for them.
“They have won 13 games in a row but we are still close behind them. We will keep chasing them, we don’t give up.
“They are a good team who are doing well. Credit to them for the run they’ve had but we’re not thinking about that. The Premier League is a long season. We have to go right to the end.
“January is a tough month for us with all the games we have. We have to stay calm and keep performing at this level.”
