La Liga giants want to offload €35m Liverpool target

Manchester United are interested in signing Andre Gomes, according to Sport.

The Portuguese midfielder moved to the Nou Camp last season but failed to impose himself despite a hefty €35 million transfer fee, starting only 17 Liga games. He is also wanted by Liverpool.

Barcelona want to get rid of a midfielder and know that Jose Mourinho has a high estimation of Gomes.

One year ago the Champions League finalists were reported to be interested in Andre Gomes who eventually joined Barcelona in a € 35 million deal.

Marca wrote yesterday that they wanted to get rid of Arda Turan, but that nobody would touch the former Atletico Madrid man, or at least not at Barca’s prices.

They are, however, happy to sell Gomes for €35 million. Liverpool have also been linked to the midfielder and asked for both Rafinha and him as part of the Philippe Coutinho deal.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp is planning to raid his ex-club Borussia Dortmund for Christian Pulisic if Philippe Coutinho is victorious in forcing through a transfer to Barcelona, as reported by The Sun.

Liverpool stays adamant the South American will remain at Anfield, despite the Catalan giants making a £80million offer that will test the Reds’ resolve.

Despite Klopp’s spirit, the German is claimed to be drawing up emergency plans should his star man find the temptation of joining ex Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez at Camp Nou too much to resist.

Dortmund suggested to be equally decided to keep hold of the 18-year-old Pulisic, who lit up the Bundesliga last year with a series of eye-catching displays, however, Klopp could yet test the waters with a £30m offer.

The Brazilian was again in scintillating form as Liverpool continued their amazing pre-season season with a 3-0 victory over Hertha Berlin on Saturday, with the ex Inter ace laying on Mohamed Salah’s third goal in a Liverpool jersey, with the pair looking to have struck up an immediate understanding.

“I think players like this understand each other; It’s a good thing with having players of this quality. I was pleased, but it was what I expected.

“The pass was excellent, and the finish was not too bad also. The new players are maybe better than people thought they would be.

“I believe we said early that we want to build on the squad from last year, and that’s what we’ve tried to do. For the moment, we’re pleased.

“We don’t have many injuries now, which is the best news and if we can stay fit, we can be very strong. Unfortunately, the other teams are also actually pretty strong in England, so we have no choice but to be at our highest.” – said the Liverpool, head coach.
