Klopp targeting 18 goals and 15 assists world-class Argentine as next top signing

Manuel Lanzini has yet again cropped up as a potential target for Liverpool as the club strives to replace Philippe Coutinho in the summer.

The West Ham man is a familiar name within a plethora of unreliable reports combining to fabricate Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist in his search for added creativity.

Injecting fresh invention in place of Coutinho will undoubtedly become a priority when the transfer window re-opens, with Lanzini in fact representing one of the more realistic options.

The attacking midfielder boasts a place as one of Klopp’s main targets, according to Diario Ole.

Granted, there are far more reliable outlets but there is also potential substance given the longevity of rumours indicating interest in the 25-year-old on Merseyside.

Lanzini’s form has often been hampered by troubled times at the London Stadium in recent seasons, although not enough to deter admiration for his undeniable talent.

18 goals and 15 assists in 96 appearances for the Hammers marks an encouraging return, especially when considering the shortage of attacking talent throughout the squad. With little to work with in the way of a clinical forward to feed, he has still managed to prove his worth and adapt quickly to the Premier League.

Marko Arnautovic’s rise in form in recent months has subsequently extracted Lanzini’s quality on a more consistent basis, giving the former Al Jazira Club man, who signed permanently for West Ham for upwards of £10million in 2016, welcomed assistance in the final third.

It poses the question as to what he would be capable of when tasked with the job of supplying Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

At this stage, however, he is the latest on an increasingly long-list of possible targets.
